Froelich: Mother will cooperate if her son is transferred from Hadassah

Rabbi Avraham Froelich, who posted the bail of the haredi mother suspected of starving her three-year-old son, said on Monday that transferring the boy from Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital to a different medical facility would ease tensions between the haredi community and authorities. If her son were hospitalized at a different institution, "the mother will cooperate with the psychiatrist and undergo a psychiatric evaluation," Froelich said in an interview with Army Radio. The suspected child abuser, believed to be mentally ill, skipped a pre-scheduled psychiatric evaluation on Sunday. The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court will hold a hearing later Monday to discuss the woman's breach of the accord. "If the son is not transferred from the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, the demonstrators will return to the streets," sources close to the mother told Army Radio on Monday morning.
