Gal-On slams Bank Leumi for forgiving Tshuva debt

Meretz chairwoman Zehava Gal-On on Sunday slammed a decision made by Bank Leumi to forgive mega tycoon Yitzhak Tshuva's NIS 130m. debt.
"It appears that in Bank Leumi, collecting debts from tycoons is only a recommendation," Gal-On said.
"No regular customer [of the bank] would've gotten a loan in the absurd conditions Tshuva received," she added, and called for a Bank of Israel inspection of the matter.
On Friday, Bank Leumi decided to back out of an offered arrangement with another tycoon, Nochi Dankner, to forgive NIS 150m. of Handen Holding's debt.
