Gallant: Attorney general 'extorted' to keep him from chief of staff post

Minister of Immigration and Aliyah Yoav Gallant claimed that his appointment as IDF chief of staff was blocked because the attorney general and state comptroller were "extorted," according to a report in Hadashot News Monday.
When asked at a Likud party event how he could be appointed defense minister after having been passed over for IDF chief of staff, Gallant blamed former attorney general Yehuda Weinstein and former comprtoller Lindenstrauss.
"When it came to the chief of staff position, the attorney general and the comptroller were extorted by certain individuals," he said.
