Gantz: Egypt border attack proves dangers of unstable ME

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz said Wednesday that Sunday's cross-border terror attack emanating from Egypt's Sinai peninsula served to "remind us of the dangers existent in the instability of the Middle East."
Speaking at a ceremony honoring graduates of the IDF's Command and Staff College, Gantz said that the attack had been "thwarted by IDF forces, swiftly and powerfully, with the aid of precise intelligence, as well as a skilled and prepared operational force."
Gantz stated that terrorist organizations would continue their attempts to attack Israeli citizens and that the IDF must remain alert and prepared to handle such attacks.
