Gaza goods enter W. Bank for 1st time in almost 5 yrs

Israel on Monday initiated a pilot program to allow 30 truckloads of energy date bars to enter the West Bank from Gaza.
The two trucks that traveled out of Gaza Monday, marked the first time in almost five years that Israel approved had approved Gaza exports to the West Bank.
Until Hamas’ violent coup of the Gaza Strip in June 2007, 85 percent of it exports went to the West Bank, according to Gisha – Legal Center for Freedom of Movement.
"This is an important step toward fulfilling the Israeli government's commitment to allow economic development for Palestinians living in Gaza,” said Gisha Director Sari Bashi.
