Gaza periphery camps to expand

Education Minister Naftali Bennett set aside more than a million shekels on Tuesday to expand summer camp programs for children in Sderot and other towns near Gaza this summer.

“There is no country in the world whose children live under the threat of rockets like the residents of the Gaza periphery, and we are here to support them and express our appreciation for their bravery after last summer’s running to the safe-room – this summer the children deserve to run to the pool,” said Bennett in his statement.

The ministry also funds the Summer Vacation Schools for first and second grades around the country.

Bennett also directed the psychological services of the Education Ministry to continue providing support treatment to students in Sderot and the Gaza periphery throughout the summer.
