German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said on Tuesday that Israel has the right to defend its citizens from rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. Amid an escalation of tensions in the South, Steinmeier warned that the continuous rocket attacks on Israel would lead to a "situations that threatens to propel the vortex of violence and backlash against violence."He urged parties to prevent a military confrontation from spiraling out of control.
