German mayoral candidate seriously wounded in knife attack in Cologne

A leading mayoral candidate for the German city of Cologne was stabbed in the neck Saturday morning during a campaign stop in what the police believe was motivated by nationalists sentiments.
Henriette Reker along with her aide were seriously wounded in the attack that took place at a campaign rally in the city of Colone by a 44-year-old perpetrator.
Three others were wounded before the assailant was finally apprehended.
