German President Frank Walter Steinmeier chose to address the audience of the Fifth World Holocaust Forum in English and emphasized in his Thursday speech the responsibility of the Germans to the Holocaust and the Second World War.
“I stand here in Jerusalem laden with historical guilt,” he said, “Germany’s responsibility does not expire.”
