Al-Qaida detainees will be kept in prison even after they complete their sentences in order to prevent them from engaging in terrorist activity, Libyan leader Muammar Ghaddafi declared on Thursday, according to a Reuters report. Ghaddafi reportedly called the prisoners “heretics,” adding that prolonged jail confinement would also prevent terrorists from moving to other countries in the region in order to plan attacks there. "It is a necessity to keep them in prison … Who would vouch for these 300 or 100 dangerous people?” the Libyan leader was quoted as saying.
