Golan Telecom fined for closing call centers on Chol Hamo'ed

The Ministry of Communications fined discount telecom carrier Golan Telecoms NIS 11,190 on Sunday over its failure to keep customer calling center open during the Sukkot holiday the previous year.
The ministry rules require that telephone require telephone call centers to be staffed for at least 13 hours on Sunday through Thursdays, but reduced the requirement to ten hours for the sukkot holiday's Chol Hamo'ed interim days, which fell between September 22-24 of 2013.
According to the Ministry, Golan failed to open its call centers on those days.
The fine was announced just ahead of Passover, which also has an interim Chol Hamo'ed period between its first and last days.
