Justice Minister Yaakov Neeman has asked the Knesset to shelve a controversial bill aimed at limiting the number of asylum seekers and migrant workers entering Israel illegally, the chairman of the Knesset Interior Committee told
The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday.
The government legislation, known as the Infiltration Prevention Law, was originally passed in the previous Knesset in first reading by a vote of 21 to one and was granted continuity in the current Knesset so that the MKs could resume the legislation process where they had left off before the election.
