Greece mulls floating jails for migrants, asylum seekers

ATHENS — Greek officials say they are considering the use of floating prisons to detain asylum seekers — the latest measure being considered in a crackdown on illegal immigration.
Public Order Minister Christos Papoutsis said Wednesday that floating prisons are being considered as part of tougher measures likely to include building a fence on part of the Greek-Turkish border and using old army facilities as detention centers.
