Green building standard offered for public comment

The revised Standards Institution of Israel Standard 5281 for green building has been published for public comment, SII said Monday.
The standard, which first went into effect in 2005, underwent serious revision to bring it closer to more stringent international standards recently. Consultants from the UK collaborated with Israeli experts to raise the level of the standard's requirements.
Green buildings conserve resources such as energy and water and utilize their physical location in the best possible way while providing a pleasant work atmosphere.
