Hague: Gaddafi staying in power would be a 'nightmare'

LONDON - It would be a nightmare for Libya's people if their leader Muammar Gaddafi managed to crush a rebellion and hold on to power, British Foreign Secretary William Hague said on Monday.
"If Gaddafi went on to be able to dominate much of the country, well this would be a long nightmare for the Libyan people and this would be a pariah state for some time to come," Hague told BBC Radio.
Britain and France have been pushing for the imposition of a no-fly zone to shield Libyans from Gaddafi's air power.
