Hamas calls for end of 'Israeli blackmail' after Schabas resignation

Hamas said that the resignation of William Schabas was the result of “Israeli pressure.”
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said that the resignation was an “inevitable result of Israeli practices and the Zionist lobby, which have been leading pressure on the UN committee and its chairman.”
Barhoum called for putting an end to Israeli “blackmail” of UN investigative committees. The Israeli pressure, he added, is designed to prevent any legal action against Israeli “war crimes’ in the Gaza Strip.
The Hamas spokesman urged the UN to pursue its investigations against Israel and not to succumb to Israeli “blackmail and pressure.”
