Hamas PM invites Abbas to discuss unified gov't, calls for rivalry to end

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh invited Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to a meet to discuss the formation of a unity government, Ma'an News Agency reported on Thursday.
In a speech during a conference in Gaza City, Haniyeh said that the unified government needs to protect Palestinian interests and principals and called for the rivaly between to two governments to come to an end.
"The only battle our people should fight is against occupation," Haniyeh said. "We should not be fighting any battles against Egypt or Ramallah or others."
