Hanegbi apologizes for 'attacks on south are minor' comments

"I Apologize, my statements caused tremendous pain among the residents of the south," Minister for Regional Cooperation Tzachi Hanegbi said Thursday afternoon, referring to comments he made in the morning, in which he downplayed the rocket attacks residents of southern Israel suffered over the past days.
Hanegbi said he hoped that the residents of the south "understand that things were said absentmindedly."
"I went to Sderot without an entourage and without the media to hear what was happening to them," he added.
