Haredi in Bet Shemesh suspected of demanding woman move to back-of-bus

Police in Bet Shemesh apprehended for questioning a haredi man who demanded that a woman move to the back of an Egged municipal bus. The incident occurred on Ben-Ish street in the city, police said.
In addition to the haredi man, police also apprehended a haredi woman for causing a public disturbance.
Justice Minister Tzipi Livni has pledged to outlaw back-of-the-bus seating for women on public transport in Israel to stop Jewish religious zealots trying to enforce gender segregation in many spheres of life.
