Sixty-five drugs and technology worth NIS 300 million will be added to the Health Basket, the smallest addition to the basket in recent years, reported Israel Radio on Wednesday.
The Health Basket committee submitted its recommendations to Deputy Health Minister Ya’acov Litzman. Among other things, the basket will include hearing aids for people aged 65 and over, machines for the constant monitoring of blood sugar levels for Diabetic children and pregnant women, vaccines against the the "Rota" virus, and the transferring by helicopter of patients living in remote communities across the country.
Litzman expressed satisfaction over the committee's recommendations, and said NIS 300 million was a respectable amount for the basket.
