Health Ministry: Wild polio virus found in Jerusalem sewage

The wild polio virus was found for the first time in Jerusalem’s sewage treatment plant, the Health Ministry reported on Monday. It called on parents of children up to the age of 10 who have already received the killed-virus polio shot to go for the attenuated-virus drops as soon as possible in tipat halav (well-baby) centers.
More than half of all relevant children in the country have already been vaccinated with the drops since the campaign began on August 5. No one has come down with the paralytic disease, but only healthy carriers have been found.
