At the beginning of his speech at the Knesset Monday evening, MK Dov Henin (Hadash) quoted Menachem Begin in 1952 on the necessity of judicial review, saying that today's Likud is a very different party from its predecessor Herut (freedom) .Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin responded saying that "freedom remains but it is very small." Henin replied saying, "Tonight the extreme right-wing is fighting for a complete hostile takeover of the Supreme Court.""In these dark days we must not allow the elimination of the court- more than ever we need it as an independent and critical body."
