Herzog: The government must stop stammering and return security to the citizens of Israel

Opposition leader Isaac Herzog (Zionist Union) took to Facebook ahead of the emergency cabinet meeting on Tuesday afternoon to criticize the government's response to the day's terrorist attacks.
"The government must stop stammering and return security to the citizens of Israel," he said, listing the steps the cabinet should take to tackle the wave of terrorist attacks.
These steps include the closing off of Arab neighborhoods and flash points in Jerusalem; the deployment of more security personnel and the calling up of reserve forces should the need arise; waging "an aggressive security, judiciary and intelligence war on Islamist websites and online incitement"; and the temporary closing off of the Temple Mount to visitors.
His faction would support the government to take these steps, he said, adding that "we would never be in opposition to the people of Israel and their safety."
