High Court: Beersheba gay pride parade can go forward, but on alternate route

The High Court of Justice on Wednesday ruled that the Beersheba gay pride parade scheduled for Thursday can go forward as planned, but on an alternate route.
Police had forbidden the parade from taking place on central roads in the city due to intelligence suggesting a threat to the procession.
The High Court ruled in response to a petition against the police decision that the parade could be held in the city on an alternate route.
Representatives of the parade who petitioned the court must decide Thursday evening if they accept an alternative route suggested by police or if they prefer an alternative route provided by the court.
