High Court will not compel former pres. Naor to attend settlement ceremony

The High Court of Justice late Wednesday rejected a petition to compel President Miriam Naor to attend a ceremony celebrating 50 years of settlement.
Justice Uri Shoham wrote that Naor's decision not to send a court representative was valid to avoid "issues in public dispute and politics" and that upholding her decision was important "to uphold the court's independence."
