Histadrut, Treasury ask courts for extension on update

The Histadrut and the Finance Ministry will ask the National Labor Court to give them until Sunday to update it on the progress of negotiations on the employment status of contract workers, the Histadrut said in a statement Thursday morning.

The National Labor Court ordered the Histadrut and Finance Ministry to return to negotiations after allowing the former to hold a four-hour general strike on Monday in protest over the issue of contract workers. Both sides were ordered to submit written reports to the court by Thursday 12 p.m. regarding the progress of negotiations.
