Hizbullah congratulates Ahmadinejad on election victory

Hizbullah on Sunday congratulated Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for winning a second term in office, despite cries of voter fraud in the presidential election. Ahmadinejad was declared the winner of last Friday's vote but the results are being disputed by his reformist rival, Mir Hossein Mousavi. Friday's vote was conducted in an atmosphere of "freedom," the group said in a statement, and the election matched those in the most deep-rooted democracies in the world. Hizbullah is Iran's strongest ally in Lebanon, and the group is believed to have received hundreds of millions of dollars as well as weapons from Iran over the past 25 years.
