Holon registers second straight win

Hapoel Holon combined two wins for the first time this season on Saturday, edging Hapoel Tel Aviv 84-83 to boost its survival hopes. Holon improved to 7-14 after Tel Aviv’s Raviv Limonad missed a chance to win the game at the buzzer.
Will Clyburn scored 32 points for Holon, just as he did in last week’s victory over Hapoel Eilat. Shlomi Harush added 20 points and seven rebounds for the winners.
“We are playing every game like we are fighting for our season and that is tough, but we have to continue doing that,” said Holon coach Dan Shamir.
Limonad had 19 points and nine assists for Tel Aviv, which lost for the third time in four games to fall to 8-13.
On Sunday, Maccabi Tel Aviv (14-6) aims to combine four straight wins for the first time in 2016 when it visits Hapoel Eilat (9-11).
Maccabi, which beat Ironi Nahariya 78-66 in BSL action last week on the back of its State Cup triumph, can close within half a game of first-place Hapoel Jerusalem (15-5), which visits Maccabi Kiryat Gat (6-14) on Monday.
Also Sunday, Ironi Ness Ziona (7-13) visits Ironi Nahariya (11-9).
Elsewhere Monday, Bnei Herzliya (11-9) welcomes Maccabi Ashdod (10-10).
