Hotovely: Israel working through diplomatic channels to prevent latest flotilla

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely said Sunday that the Foreign Ministry is working around the clock through all possible diplomatic channels to ensure that a Gaza flotilla expected to set sail from Greece does not reach Israeli territorial waters.

She said that the participation of Balad MK Basel Ghattas in the flotilla testifies to "serving the enemy with parliamentary immunity." One government official added that Israel would not allow the flotilla to enter Israeli territorial waters.

Hotovely said that contrary to the picture the Palestinians are trying to paint, Israel allows into Gaza humanitarian aid, food and construction supplies.

"Flotillas like the one making its way to Israel is the handiwork of provocateurs who only want to make Israel look bad," she said.
