Hotovely to Czechs: Don't present Tel Aviv as Israel's capital

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely urged her Czech colleague to reverse a government decision to order atlases used in the country's schools to name Tel Aviv, not Jerusalem, as Israel's capital.
“At no time in Jerusalem's 3000 year history has it ever served as the capital of any other state,” Hotovely wrote to Martin Tlapa. “It is the seat of Israel's government and the self-evident crux of Israel's national life.”The Czech Education ministry, according to Czech media reports, ordered the change in the atlases following a complaint from the Palestinian embassy in Prague. The Czech Republic is considered among the most, if not the most, supportive country of Israel in the EU.
