Hundreds demonstrate for LGBT rights ahead of vote on legal recognition for gay couples

Hundreds of activists demonstrated Saturday night in Habima Square in Tel Aviv calling to prevent discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, Israel Radio reported.
Activists took to the street ahead of a Ministerial Committee on Legislation vote set for Sunday on a bill aiming to require family courts to treat same-sex couples the same way they treat heterosexual couples.
Shai Doitch, chairman of Agudah, Israel's National Association of LGBT, said the state should grant full rights to citizens of the LGBT community.
