'I imagined you would eulogize me,' terror victim’s mother says at son’s funeral

“I had imagined you would eulogize me,” Rabbanit Chana Henkin said on Friday morning as she stood by the body of her son Eitam and his wife Na’ama, who were killed the night before as they drove home with their four children after a visit with friends.
As she looked out at the thousands of mourners who had gathered in the parking lot of the Har Hamenuchot cemetery in Jerusalem, Chana recalled how she had seen her 31-year old son, just the day before. She stood on a small makeshift stage that had been set up under the hot noon sun, as she described how the extended family had gathered just 24 hours at Eitam and Na’ama’s home in the West Bank settlement of Neria.
They went on a hike and hung out in the house while the children played nicely on the rug.
“We said goodbye yesterday leisurely, with happiness and smiles,” said Chana.
“And then you were killed. This parting, is very hard,” said Chana.
