IAF returns F-16 jets to service after emergency incident

The Israel Air Force  returned its F-16 fighters to normal service on Thursday after the jets were grounded due to an emergency incident on January 2, 2013.
IAF chief Maj.-Gen. Amir Eshel said an investigation revealed that an IDF pilot and his navigator, who ejected from their craft during a landing at the Ramat David Air Base in the Jezreel Valley, had acted appropriately. Eshel accepted the recommendations of the investigative committee, and has ordered a more in-depth probe into the technical issues relevant in the incident.
A source said that the IAF was coordinating with personnel from the US Air Force, which also flies the F-16.
