Ian McEwan donates J'lem Prize cash to Combatants for Peace

British author Ian McEwan who won the Jerusalem Prize for the Freedom of Society this week, donated the $10,000 prize to Combatants for Peace group on Thursday.
McEwan joined the weekly protest in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah two days before receiving the Jerusalem Prize. In his acceptance speech on Sunday, McEwan expressed some controversial political opinions that angered a few attendees, and elicited one boo from the audience in the middle of his speech.
