IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz appointed a new spokesman on Monday following a routine reshuffle of army positions.
Brig.-Gen. Moti Almoz, the outgoing head of the IDF Civil Administration, will replace Brig.-Gen. Yoav Mordchai as spokesman. Mordechai, who led the army's public relations throughout Operation Pillar of Defense in 2012,  is expected to be promoted to the rank of major-general, and appointed to a senior field of responsibility.
Almoz will be replaced by the outgoing head of the Central Command's Headquarters, Brig.-Gen. David Menachem.
Gantz appointed Col. Avner Paz-Tzuk, currently head of the cyber division,  to the post of chief education minister.
The timing of the appointments has yet to be finalized.
