IDF Chief of Staff reduces Hebron shooter's sentence by four months

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eisenkot reduced former IDF combat medic Elor Azaria's custodial sentence by four months on Wednesday afternoon.
Eizenkot emphasized that Azaria's actions were unacceptable but reduced the sentence on grounds of mercy and taking into account his military experience.
Azaria was sentenced in February by an IDF trial court to 18 months in prison for manslaughter when he shot and killed an already wounded and “neutralized” Palestinian attacker, Abdel Fatah al-Sharif, in Hebron on March 24, 2016.
