IDF: Electrical component malfunction caused siren error

A malfunction in one of the electronic components in the Home Front Command alert system caused the error in the air raid sirens which sounded all across the country earlier Wednesday, according to an initial investigation by the IDF.
The investigation was conducted by the Home Front Command under orders from the Chief of General Staff Maj.-Gen. Benny Gantz.
The IDF said the malfunction was previously unknown and the necessary components were disabled until a thorough investigation into the matter is completed.
The warning system is currently in operation and will pass additional tests throughout the night.
