IDF Givati officer sentenced to 14 days in abuse case

The IDF announced Wednesday that a Givati Brigade deputy company commander was convicted and sentenced to 14 days in prison and dismissed from his post for involvement in a recent and highly publicized case of abusing junior ranked soldiers.
The IDF Legal Division had charged the officer with conduct unbecoming.
Colonel Ofer Levi who presided over the case and convicted the officer said that his conduct was unacceptable both in the Givati Brigade and in the IDF more generally. According to Levi, anyone involved in the abuse will be brought to justice.
He added that the IDF is addressing the broader issues of relations between senior officers and junior ranked soldiers.
