IDF lifts decree rendering northern Golan a closed military zone

Hours after declaring parts of the northern Golan Heights a closed military zone, the IDF on Tuesday night lifted the decree and returned the area to normal.
The move was designed to prevent demonstrations by members of the Druse community who are concerned about the fate of Druse Syrians across the border due to threats by Islamic State and the Nusra Front.
It comes after intensive battles raged between Assad regime forces and rebels on the Syrian part of the border in recent days.
The closure was designed to prevent civilian gatherings in areas near the border fence, which could disrupt ongoing IDF security activities.
