IDF officer indicted for negligent homicide of Palestinian

An IDF captain has been indicted for negligence in the killing of 21-year-old Palestinian Uday Darwish on January 12, 2013.
Darwish was crossing illegally through the West Bank border fence in the southern Hebron Hills area to his workplace in Rahat when a soldier under the captain's command shot him.
The soldier was previously convicted of negligence in killing Darwish and sentenced to seven months in prison, but the decision on whether to indict the soldier's commanding officer was significantly delayed.
The final decision to indict the captain came as the IDF prosecutor decided that the captain had ignored the rules of engagement and not properly trained the soldier who shot Darwish under those rules.
