IDF to reform service length in some jobs, in boost for gender equality

The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee authorized Tuesday for women in 50 jobs in IDF mandatory service to serve for 32 months, as long as men in those jobs.
IDF officers told the committee that the change will help the military move towards focusing on assigning conscripts according to job and not gender, and that women@@@s shorter service blocked them from serving in more roles.
