Indictment for cop who allegedly sold intel to crime boss

The Justice Ministry's department for investigating police officers on Monday indicted an intelligence officer from the LAHAV 433 unit on bribery charges.

The indictment alleges that officer Gilad Grinvitz – who was privy to some of the most sensitive investigative material in the police database – collaborated with a suspect named Benny Yiftah to sell classified material to Eli Hadad and Eli Musli, the later the head of the Musli crime family.

The indictment alleges that the intelligence was passed on in exchange for $100,000, and that the man who brokered the deal is a private investigator who turned state's witness.

In addition, on two other occasions Yiftah and Grinvitz were contacted and offered money for information.

As well, the indictment says that Grinvitz and Yiftah planted a listening device on a car in exchange for $8,000.
