Indictment to be filed against Jerusalem mother Tuesday

The prosecution on Monday announced that it plans to file an indictment against a haredi woman suspected of nearly starving her 3-year-old son to death. The indictment against the mother, who was deemed fit to stand trial just over a week ago, will be filed to the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. Since her arrest, the mother has consistently refused to cooperate with investigators, and has been erratic in appearing for both court hearings and psychiatric evaluations. Last month, news of the alleged abuse and the subsequent arrest of the mother sparked days of riots in Jerusalem.
