DNA tests confirmed that terrorist leader Noordin Top was killed days ago in a shootout with police, Indonesia announced on Saturday.
National Police spokesman Nanan Sukarna said that DNA tests supported the findings of an earlier fingerprint identification.
Last month, authorities initially believed a terror suspect killed by police was Noordin, but DNA tests proved otherwise.
Noordin, who police say is responsible for a string of deadly bombings in the country since 2002, died Thursday after a gun battle at a safe house in central Java.
