Infant twins survive being left in car during intense heat

Twin eighteen-month-old boys were taken to Emek Medical Center in Afula on Wednesday after they were left alone by their mother in her car in Nazareth. She said she had gone off without them “for short time.”
The children, who live in Kafr Kana, fainted from the intense heat. A municipal inspector noticed them and called the police, who extracted them in time to save their lives.
According to Beterem, between 2008 and 2012, a total of 192 cases of children being left alone in cars were reported. Eight of them died. Last month alone, two children died from hyperthermia after being left unattended in their parents’ cars.
The twins were reported to be in good condition.
