Iran gives Russia copy of US drone captured last year

Iran has given Russia a copy of a US spy drone that it reverse-engineered and mass produced it as proof its forces have captured the American unmanned aerial vehicle a year ago, Iranian news agency Fars reported.
The Islamic Republic claimed to have seized the ScanEagle drone in December 2012, though the US quickly denied that any of its unmanned aerial vehicle were missing.
"The drone built by the Islamic republic's Revolutionary Guards is a symbol of the technical capabilities of the Islamic Iran and today we presented a real model of it as a gift to Russian air force,"Iranian commander Farzad Esmayeeli said after meeting with Russian Air Force commander Viktor Bondarev.
ScanEagle drones, which are small in size and have a long endurance, are used for a variety of naval operations. They are manufactured by Boeing Co. According to the firm's website, the drone is four feet long and has a 10-foot (three-meter) wingspan.
