Iran rejects US request for bilateral talks

Iran rejected a request to hold bilateral talks with representatives of the United States in negotiations on its nuclear program in Istanbul on Saturday.
An Iranian official said the request was referred to him by European Union Foreign Minister Catherine Ashton.  He argued that there was no need for such discussions, other than the discussions already underway in Istanbul.
