Iranian FM: 'Terrorists' used chemical weapons in Syria, not Assad regime

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that if chemical weapons were used in Syria, they were dropped by the rebels and not by Syrian President Bashar Assad's military, the Assad-regime's news agency SANA reported.
"If the use of the chemical weapons is true, surely the armed terrorist groups are the one which used them as it was proved that they do not hesitate to commit any crime," Zarif was quoting as telling his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu in a phone call on Wednesday.
Zarif asserted the Syrian government would not use chemical weapons while the UN investigation team was in Damascus to probe allegations of chemical weapons use.
