Iranian women's soccer team investigated over claims of homosexuality

Iranian authorities were investigating the Iranian women's soccer team after some of its members were accused of being lesbian, the BBC reported Friday.
Homosexuality is prohibited by Sharia law in Iran, and is punishable by death in the Islamic country. Transexuality has been tolerated since the 1980's, and gender reassignment surgery is often seen as a "cure" for homosexuality.
