Iran's President Hassan Rouhani met with Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha in Bangkok on Sunday to discuss trade and ties, in a meeting being held ahead of the Asia Corporation Dialogue meeting.
The bilateral meeting was held on the sidelines of the two-day Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), an international governmental organization aimed to integrate separate regional organizations such as the Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN), South Asean Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC), the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the Eurasian Economic Union.
President Rouhani's visit was part of his tour of Asia after visiting Vietnam and Malaysia earlier this week.
The president is scheduled to give the opening speech at ACD summit along with the leaders of 33 countries on Monday (October 10) in Bangkok.
Trade value between Thailand and Iran is estimated at around $794.46 million, according to Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Thailand exports televisions, air conditioners, rice, rubber and iron to Iran and imports chemical products, metal ore, fish and natural gas from Iran.
